Free RSLogix 500 Download Process Update Videoįrom watching the video, I will walk you through the setup process in the article below. This is one of the platforms I learned to use years ago when I first started over 18 years ago, that was RSlogix 5 but the difference between RSlogix 5 and RSlogix 500 is very minor from a software standpoint but is much different as far as I/O and processor but learning from this free version has a very beneficial value. When it comes to understanding programming then it is best to practice but what a lot of people have trouble with is not having the software but you can get a solid foundation of programming by using RSlogix. The first thing to do is to set up an account with Rockwell’s website if you do not have one already but don’t worry if you do not have one because I will discuss that as well.

Now… RSLogix 500 Starter, will only work with one type of PLC, that is the 10 point Allen Bradley PLC, this model number is 1761-L10BWB and 1761-L10BXB I have verified it on BXB but not on the BWB and I also think it will work on the 1761-L10BWA, the BXB has transistor outputs the BWB has relay outputs, you can get more information at HEREĪlso this software will not work with all 10pts, I know that some of the older PLCs (firmware) it will not, so this needs to be a new or newer PLC, if I ever find out the exact ones that is will or will not work with I will post them. RSLogix 500 is a normal size and can be downloaded at any time, but RSLinx is a very large file and you may want to down load this late at night, you will need the entire file.
